The department aims to provide excellent teaching/learning environment to the students.
The department has started its own CAD-CAM center to impart training to the students of mechanical engineering on various industry specific softwares such as CATIA V-5, making them adaptive to technical challenges. Moreover, as a part of Research and consultancy activity, the department is in a process of starting a “P.U.C” testing center in order to facilitate pollution testing of automobiles.
The department has formed a students’ association M.E.S.A( Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association) which mainly works for co-curricular and extra curricular activities like arranging Industrial visits, seminars, workshops and guest lectures of eminent technocrats from industry, under the Quality Improvement Program of the “University of Pune”.
M.E.S.A also runs its own library well equipped with almost all reference books prescribed by the University of Pune Curriculum. There are about 96 titles, 357 volumes, Handbooks of “ Steam Engineering” and “ Vickers Manual “ etc.
